Congresswoman-Elect Sharice Davids Announces First District Office Location
Congresswoman-elect Sharice Davids (KS-03) has announced that she will locate her first District Office in Downtown Overland Park. Her team will move into the space at 7325 W. 79th Street that was previously occupied by her predecessor.
By keeping the same office location and telephone number, Davids hopes to make it easier for constituents to find and access the help they need.
“My priority is to represent and serve our community,” Davids said. “Taking over this space allows my team to get up and running quickly, with little down time or disruption to people who need help from our office.”
In addition to this location, Davids has begun the process of opening a second District Office in Wyandotte County. More information will be provided as it is finalized.
Staff at both of Davids’ offices will help constituents of the Third Congressional District navigate the federal government. For example, staff may be able to help with backlogged veterans’ benefits, Social Security and Medicare issues, stalled tax refunds, passport issues, and more. Examples of federal agencies the office will work with include the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Small Business Administration (SBA), The Department of Defense (DOD), and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Davids and her staff will work diligently to help constituents cut through red tape and get responses and resolutions to their concerns.
The District Office will open on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 8:30 a.m. Regular office hours will be Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Appointments outside of office hours will also be available.
More information on a grand opening ceremony to be held in January is forthcoming.
